Google Hackfair Pakistan

Google Hackfair is a global platform for developers and technologists to showcase their ideas, projects and products incorporating technologies offered by Google. Be it a robo server, a dress counsellor or a language translator, Google Hackfair Pakistan gives everyone the opportunity to execute or propose interesting, creative, out of the box yet practical ideas. It offers an upfront and straightforward approach to share your ideas and your love for technology with the world.

Google Hackfair Pakistan

Google Hackfair took place in Pakistan for the first time ever where many aspiring technologists and developers came forward with many intriguing and smart ideas, products and Projects. These ranged from everyday life, agriculture, music, fashion and what not. It was situated in Arfa Karim Technology Park and was organized by Business & Management Consultants (BMC) and hosted mutually by Plan9 and Google Inc. This Google Hackfair Pakistan consisted of many different activities which included Product/Project/Idea Showcasing, Goodies, Seminars, Motivational Speeches.

A special note of appreciation goes to the organizers and hosts who managed to arrange and execute the whole event with such expertise and for making sure that everyone left happy.

Google Career Talk

Google Career Talk is an initiative by Google to answer all your educational question. You could think of this like a career counsellor who gives you advice about choosing a domain and career, the only difference being that it quicker and less expensive. An introductory session with Google’s Career Talk was organized at Lahore University of Management and Sciences coordinated by Sharjeel Qureshi who is a software engineer at Youtube, Google.

Android Student Clubs, Comsats

Android Developers Fundamentals is a course developed and offered by Google for teaching students about android and developing apps using android. The course is aimed for final year CS students but anyone interested can enrol themselves, given that they have had a hands-on training with java.The course start from as simple as developing a hello world program and goes up-to developing complete apps for users. This course has been included in the course work for final years students in many universities in various countries. A startup event took place in COMSATS Islamabad, which was organized by Business and Management Consultants and coordinated by one of the Google Student Ambassadors Muhammad Usman Siddiqui.

 

Android Student Clubs, FAST

Android Student Ambassador, Umair Qudus organized a program on assisting fellow students in learning Android at FAST University Islamabad.

Women Techmakers

Google Developer Group (GDG) Karachi organized Women Techmakers at the Nest I/O to celebrate women in technology. The program comprised of various tech and non-tech speaking sessions to equip the women in technology and to give them an exposure to what is happening in the tech scene of Pakistan. The said event was organized by Manager GDG Karachi Faraz Baig.

 

 

 

 

Android Study Jams, Lahore

Android Developers, is a course developed and offered by Google for teaching students about android and developing apps using android. The course is aimed for final year students but anyone interested can enroll themselves. The course start from as simple as developing a hello world program and goes upto developing complete apps for users. This course has been included in the course work for final years students in many universities in various countries. An Android Study Jams was organized by our team at BMC and coordinated by the Google Developers Group (GDG) to allow students to familiarise with the course.

 

 

Workshop on G-Sites

Google Student Ambassador Noor Zehra

G-sites is Google’s platform to let users create websites, portals and intranets without having to write the case with their ready-to-use technological tools. An introductory session about G-sites and their utility was conducted by Google Student Ambassador Noor Zahra where she familiarised students with G-sites and answered various queries from the students. Giveaways manufactured by Business and Management Consultants (BMC) were also distributed at the end of the session.

Workshop on Google Dart

Google Dart, an object-oriented, class-based, open-source, general-purpose programming language/environment with a C-type syntax developed by Google that can be used to build mobile apps, websites and web servers. Dart was first introduced at the GOTO Conference in October 2011 and has now been approved as a standard by Ecma. An introductory event about Google Dart was conducted by Google Student Ambassador Noor Zahra to shed more light on how students can use Google Dart in their programming practices. Giveaways manufactured by Business and Management Consultants were also presented to the participants at the end of the event.
